The INFWIN MS20 is a soil moisture and temperature sensor with RS485/Modbus-RTU output. Its resin-sealed plastic body with stainless steel rods inserts directly into soil for long-term in-situ measurement. Output interface, moisture range, power supply, and cable length are all configurable via ordering code - the default variant (MS20-AACA002) ships with RS485/Modbus-RTU output, 0–100% moisture range, 3.6–30V DC supply, and a 2 m cable.
MS20 uses FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) for soil moisture measurement and offers low salinity sensitivity, minimal soil disturbance, and IP68 waterproofing for direct burial. Reverse power protection and built-in TVS/ESD protection are included.

- Soil-type calibration: Configurable soil type via Modbus register for improved accuracy. Can also be factory-calibrated for specific soils.
- IP68 waterproof: Fully sealed with epoxy resin body and stainless steel rods; suitable for direct soil burial
- Wide operating range: −40°C to +85°C operating temperature; suitable for outdoor and agricultural deployments
- Reverse power protection: Built-in TVS/ESD protection
- RS485 Modbus-RTU protocol: Standard Modbus register map; configurable slave address, baud rate, parity, and stop bits. Factory defaults: address 1, 9600 bps, 8N1.
- Active output mode: Sensor can push data at a configurable interval without master polling (RS485 variants)
- Configuration utility: SensorOneSet software included for sensor configuration via RS485
- Cable length: 2 m standard; custom lengths available

Important Notes
- The sensor rods are sharp for ease of insertion - handle with care and follow installation precautions.
- Do not pull the sensor out of soil by its cable. If resistance is felt during insertion, stop and re-insert at a new location to avoid hitting stones.
- For buried installation at depth, drill a 45 mm diameter hole at about 10° to the vertical using an auger, then insert and backfill.
- 4–20mA output variants require 12–30V DC supply; the 3.6–30V DC supply option (Code A) is not compatible with 4–20mA output.
- When using Active Output mode on RS485, only one sensor should be on the RS485 network to avoid data collision.
