The INFWIN MT05RB is a compact soil/substrate moisture and temperature sensor with RS485/Modbus-RTU output. Its resin-sealed plastic body with sensing rods inserts directly into soil or soilless substrates (e.g. rockwool, coco coir) for long-term in-situ measurement. Power supply, connector type, and cable length are configurable via ordering code - the default variant (MT05R-BAAB002) ships with RS485/Modbus-RTU output, 3.0–28V DC supply, a cold-pressed terminal connector, and a 2 m cable.

MT05RB is significantly smaller than INFWIN's other soil sensors (20 × 11 × 95 mm) and is designed for low-power, battery-operated data logger deployments, with quiescent current under 300 µA. Reverse power protection and built-in TVS/ESD protection are included.

Important Notes

  • Unlike INFWIN's MS10/MS20/MEC10/MEC20 series, MT05RB offers RS485/Modbus-RTU output only - no analog voltage, analog current, or SDI-12 variants.
  • The sensor rods are sharp for ease of insertion - handle with care and follow installation precautions.
  • Do not pull the sensor out of soil or substrate by its cable.
  • When using Active Output mode on RS485, only one sensor should be on the network to avoid data collision.
