Nexelec VIGAS Natural Gas Alarm

The Nexelec VIGAS (K987GL) is a residential natural gas alarm that continuously monitors indoor air for methane and triggers a powerful audible and visual alert when gas is detected. VIGAS operates on a sealed lithium battery designed to last the full 10-year service life of the detector — no battery replacement required.

Listed to UL 1484, VIGAS is designed for single-family homes, multi-family housing, student residences, and managed property portfolios equipped with natural gas. A QR code and NAVIXIS software platform simplify installation tracking and fleet management across large deployments.

• Methane detection: MEMS thermoelectric semiconductor sensor continuously monitors for the presence of natural gas (methane) in residential indoor environments. Triggers an alarm at just 10% of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) — early warning before methane reaches dangerous concentrations.
• 85 dB audible alarm: Powerful alarm at 10 ft (3 m) to quickly warn occupants when gas is detected.
• Three-color LED indicators: Clear visual status indication — normal operation, alert, fault, or maintenance information readable directly from the front of the product.
• Test/control button: Integrated button allows occupants to verify the detector is functioning correctly at any time.
• 10-year sealed battery: Sealed lithium battery designed for the full service life of the detector. No battery replacement required. Low battery alert notifies users when voltage becomes too low.
• Digital logbook: QR code on each detector links to an online logbook tracking installation, maintenance, and replacement history. Integrates with the NAVIXIS software platform for fleet management across multiple properties.
• UL 1484 listed: Listed to UL 1484 standard for residential natural gas detection — a recognized compliance benchmark for residential safety equipment in the United States.

• VIGAS detects methane (natural gas) only. It is not a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm and does not detect CO produced by incomplete combustion.
• VIGAS is a standalone gas alarm and is not a substitute for other required safety devices. Installation requirements vary by building type and local regulations — always verify applicable codes before installation.
• Install near gas appliances and sources per the instructions in the user manual and applicable local codes. Do not install in locations with excessive humidity, grease, or dust.
• The sealed battery is designed for the 10-year service life of the detector. Battery replacement is not supported. Replace the detector at end of life.
• Operating range: 0°C to +50°C (32°F to 122°F), 5% to 93% RH non-condensing. Indoor use only.
