Nexelec ORIGIN+ Smoke Alarm

The Nexelec ORIGIN+ is an EN14604-certified LoRaWAN smoke detector that also measures temperature and humidity. Designed for lessors, property managers, and building maintenance specialists, ORIGIN+ combines regulatory fire detection with remote fault monitoring and ambient condition tracking across large housing fleets.

ORIGIN+ pairs a photoelectric smoke sensor with temperature and humidity sensing in a compact wall or ceiling-mount enclosure. Each unit can interconnect with up to 25 other ORIGIN+ detectors and accessories, so an alarm in one room sounds in every connected unit. A secure NFC chip records a maintenance certificate after each service visit, and a QR-code digital logbook tracks installation and maintenance history across the fleet.

• Smoke detection: Photoelectric sensor using optical detection by diffused light (Tyndall effect). Triggers a powerful audible alarm and LED alert.
• Temperature measurement: Resolution 0.1°C, accuracy ±0.2°C, range −30°C to +70°C
• Humidity measurement: Resolution 0.5% RH, accuracy ±2% RH, range 0–100% RH
• 10-year battery life: Two sealed and soldered lithium batteries designed for 10 years of autonomy. No battery replacement required during the product's service life.
• Interconnection: Up to 25 detectors and accessories can be linked wirelessly, so an alarm on one unit sounds on every unit in the network.
• Signal light: Discreet LED in standby mode, powerful in alarm mode.
• Silence function: Large touch-sensitive button on the front of the detector stops the alarm or puts it on standby for 3 minutes without removing it from its base.
• 8-hour beep delay: Temporarily silences fault beeps until the detector is replaced — reduces nuisance calls in rental housing.
• Remote monitoring: Fault alerts and low-battery warnings transmitted wirelessly. Fire alarms are not transmitted by default; configurable, or available through an approved remote monitoring service, if required.
• Remote maintenance: Real-time alerts for product faults, low batteries, and other critical parameters — simplifies fleet management across thousands of detectors.
• Electronic maintenance certificate: Each maintenance visit is logged to the detector's secure NFC chip, certifying that it has been cleaned and function-tested.
• Digital logbook: QR code on each detector links to an online logbook tracking installation, maintenance, and replacement history. Integrates with property management software via API.
• Anti-tamper: Anti-pull-out detection reduces risk of removal in rental housing.
• Insect barrier: Integrated pest screen protects the sensing chamber.
• Mounting: Wall or ceiling, by screws and wall plugs or approved 3M adhesive — no drilling required with the adhesive option.
• Accessory compatible: Works with the REMOTE handheld control and the ALERT kit for deaf and hard-of-hearing occupants.

Important Notes

• Intended for indoor use only. Operating range: −10°C to +50°C, 0–99% RH non-condensing.
• Do not install within 1.5 m of light fixtures, in direct sunlight, near heaters or vents, near chimneys or boilers, or in dusty, insect-prone, or outdoor locations. See the user manual for the full list of installation restrictions.
• Fire alarms are not transmitted by default. If remote monitoring of alarm events is required, the device settings must be adjusted, or an approved remote monitoring company must be engaged.
• Battery life of 10 years is not guaranteed; actual life may vary. Refer to the "Precautions and Limitations" section of the user manual.
• LoRaWAN gateway and network server not included. A LoRaWAN network must be available at the installation site.
