The Nexelec TRACK+ RAIL is an air quality monitoring station designed specifically for underground railway stations. It measures fine particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM5), CO2, temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure using a PM sensor optimized for the iron-rich brake and wheel dust characteristic of underground rail environments. TRACK+ RAIL supports LoRaWAN and optional 4G LTE connectivity with local SD card data logging.
Based on the TRACK+ outdoor platform, TRACK+ RAIL substitutes a rail-specific PM sensor for the standard outdoor unit, adds a CO2 channel, and shares the same modular BLOCK architecture for future sensor extensions. Power supply adapts to site conditions: AC mains, DC voltage, LFP battery, or optional solar panel.
Key Features
- Fine particle measurement (PM) — optimized for underground railways: Sensor specifically designed to measure fine particles characteristic of underground rail environments (PM1, PM2.5, PM5 by mass). Laser optical sensing with AirFlow 360° sampling. Air is heated before measurement to eliminate the effect of ambient humidity on readings. Validated by an independent metrology laboratory. Mass measurement range: 0–1,000 µg/m³.
- CO2 measurement: Resolution 1 ppm, accuracy 30 ppm or ±3%, range 0–10,000 ppm — monitors ventilation effectiveness and occupant comfort in underground stations.
- Temperature measurement: Resolution 0.1°C, accuracy ±0.3°C, range −30°C to +70°C
- Humidity measurement: Resolution 0.5% RH, accuracy ±2% RH, range 0–100% RH
- Atmospheric pressure: Resolution 1 hPa, accuracy ±2.5 hPa, range 300–1,100 hPa
- AirFlow 360°: Well-ventilated aerosol sampling system allows fine particles to enter from all angles without blind spots, while providing effective protection against the environment.
- BLOCK modular expansion: 5 slots for adding measurement cartridges (ozone, NO2, and other gases), ensuring flexibility and scalability without replacing the station.
- LoRaWAN connectivity: LoRaWAN standard (X951LS). Open protocol — measurements can be used freely in any compatible monitoring software.
- 4G LTE connectivity (optional, P061 CELLULAR): Multi-operator SIM card supplied with the station, providing network coverage in over 150 countries. Includes 5 years' access to the NAVIXIS web platform.
- Local data logger: Built-in SD card stores up to 20 years of measurements in CSV format — ensures data continuity in radio dead zones or network outages.
- Flexible power supply: Operates on AC mains (110–230V), DC voltage (5–35V), or LFP lithium battery (100 Wh, up to 3 days autonomy). Optional solar panel kit (P066). Battery recharges automatically when mains power is restored.
- NFC configuration: Configuration, diagnostics, and firmware updates via the Nexelec TOUCH mobile app over NFC.
- End-to-end encryption: Double AES-128 encryption on all transmitted data
- LED status indicators: Status of the various station components visible via onboard LEDs.
- Reduced maintenance: No maintenance required for the PM sensor for 1 year in standard configuration. Wearing parts (PM sensor, battery) are replaceable on site without removing the station from its mount.
- Insect barrier: Integrated pest screen preserves measurement reliability and is easy to maintain.
- Simple installation: Wall mounting kit and pole mounting kit both included. Pole kit fits diameters from 60 to 400 mm. Standard tools only (Phillips screwdriver).
- NAVIXIS platform integration: Measurement visualization, CSV export, API/webhook connection, configurable email and SMS alerts, fleet management.

Important Notes
- Designed for use in underground railway environments and equivalent sheltered outdoor installations. Operating range: −20°C to +60°C, 0–95% RH non-condensing.
- The PM sensor is optimized for underground railway fine particles. It measures PM1, PM2.5, and PM5 only — PM0.5 and PM10 channels are not available on this variant.
- PM sensor maintenance interval is 1 year in standard configuration, shorter than the 5-year interval on the standard TRACK+ outdoor station.
- 4G LTE connectivity (P061 CELLULAR) and solar power kit (P066) are optional — contact us to discuss your configuration.
- BLOCK sensor cartridges (ozone, NO2, and other gases) are ordered separately. Up to 5 BLOCK slots available per station.
- LoRaWAN gateway not included. A LoRaWAN network must be available at the installation site when using LoRaWAN connectivity.
- LFP battery autonomy of 3 days is standard; actual autonomy depends on configuration and measurement frequency.
